THE PURSUIT FOR RAW BEAUTY

When Kristen Watts was two years old, her family lived in Saudi Arabia and they traveled the world extensively. Her first memories are a mosaic of faces from every culture. She remembers so vividly, examining every shape, every wrinkle, each movement, and staring deeply into their eyes. There was an absolute magnetism that drew her into others. International travel granted endless hours sitting in airports, where Kristen lost herself in the fascination with people’s life stories. 

In college, Kristen was given her dad’s old film camera. She knew she wanted to photograph people someday but started with chasing sunsets and capturing the peculiarities of dead trees, fallen cacti, and more offbeat, mystifying phenomena. Kristen took this call toward observing unconventional beauty; finding it held more allure and an invitation to uncover something deeper below the surface. Where truth lives. So she redirected her focus back to people, where she found intense meaning was revealed. 

Kristen took her passion for photography seriously, spent her youth saving up money for film and taking classes, had her own darkrooms over the years, and started her own photography business. After years of studying and practicing on her own, she became assistant to internationally renowned photographer, Jade Beall. Watching and learning from Jade influenced Kristen to move away from manipulating images through Photoshop, covering in heavy makeup and fancy clothes, and instead to harness the raw beauty, emotion and perfection already found within the human form. 

Kristen pivoted to develop her gifts as a healer, learning to guide people through their inner wounding to emerge in personal transformation. When she picked up her camera again, not only could she see people from an energetic perspective, but she learned she could also see their soul essence. Her camera became her healing tool; the lens her third-eye. She returned to guiding transformations, now merging all of the gifts she evolved over the last 30 years. Kristen channels important information to help both herself and her clients unfold these potent photo journeys into magical synchronistic experiences, and through the power of digital art, she memorializes these transcendent moments for her clients to enjoy for years to come.
